Starr was such a sweet and thoughtful person. She drove all the way out to the Greensboro Airport to say "good bye" to me when I was flying out to Wheaton College for my first year in college. She brought me a beautiful hand-carved ivory rose as a going away gift. I still treasure it.

She always had such a creative flair in the way she dressed (like her mom). As some of you may recall, her mom was the manager of the "Potpourri" store in Friendly Shopping Center. That store was full of interesting 60's merchandise. For some reason I remember the boxes that made animal noises when you turned them upside down (baa, moo, etc.). There was nothing else like that store in Greensboro back then. The merchandise was funny, quirky, and creative. Starr worked there part-time while in high school.

I never heard Starr ever say anything negative about anybody or gossip. She had such a pure heart. What a gift to have known her. She truly was special.
